the scream of the buttons

Today is February 10th and the start of a new era for me (crossing my fingers). You see, I have this problem that keeps following around. It started about 10 years ago and until recently I think I was pretty much in unaware that it had gotten so out of hand. Today is the day I have decided to do something about.

Technically yesterday was the day, but it took me a day to register the domain name and upload the applications.

So what happened yesterday to make me decide to make a change in my life? It was the screamin’ of my buttons. That is right, my little sewed on buttons and even the more manly riveted on buttons have had enough. Tired of the constant strain I have placed on me and the sudden and tragic loss of a few, they have begun to scream and haunt me in my dreams.

In my dreams, my buttons revolt and the zippers follow. In real life, my buttons are failing and my zippers… well lets just say they are struggling to keep their teeth together. My only recourse is to lose some weight and I have decided it has to be done now, before I anger the pant god and I am forced to walk naked to work (no one wants to see that).

The Skinny

So, here is the skinny (ha, a pun and I wasn’t even trying). I am going to track my mass and share it with the world. Not being embarrassed by my enormity is my only motivation. If I can chronicle the loss of 40 pounds, who knows, maybe others will go on line and share their experience as well.

The Facts

Today February 10th of the year 2007, at 16:00 I weighed in at 254.8 pounds. I had a body fat percentage of 32.1% and my hydration was a fair 50.1%. I never thought I would weigh that much, and I am hoping to say that was the most I have ever weighed. I will be posting some photos of me and my fat glory and I will be updating them every so often, hopefully I will be looking slimmer, but I will not promise anything. I will also be blogging about my diet and exercise for the day/week.

Talk to you later!
