Last year we didn’t make Tamale’s and did we ever get crap for it. I guess everybody likes my “Minnesota” Tamale’s.
Today is Tamale Day in the Alba home. The kids are off with Christmas Church program practice and we are going to be hard at work cooking all day. Oh what fun.
OK, this has to be one of the most amazing things I have ever seen with an image. When I first saw this, I didn’t even realize that they had resized the images in the manner in which they did. I am a true believer in seam carving.
Another “moo”ving story out of Wisconsin. A Superior, WI man who was recently convicted of having sex with a deer carcass has been taken back into custody for violating his parole.
Bryan Hathaway is charged with violating his parole after he was found eyeballing a cow at the Head of the Lakes Fair on Friday (rumor is she had a nice “dairy”-ere). Read the rest of this entry »
Got this story from the AP and got a kick out of the last paragraph.
The summary of this story is that this gentleman of 500 pounds goes “tubing” down the St. Croix river with his buddies when he starts having chest pains. Worried that he is having a heart attack, a crew is sent out to rescue him. Twelve hours later they are able to get him to a safe place and determine that he is not having a heart attack. So I have been trying to walk about 40 minutes each day. Some days I have gotten in about 80 minutes. So I decided to weigh myself today. Nothing great to say other then I haven’t lost anything yet.
I weighed in at 2*3.3 pounds. I am going to set a goal of losing 3 pounds in a week. Not a big goal, but a realistic one for someone like me who is not very active.
Will update again later… time to look for what is one Woot!
Advertising to make people healthy has been very popular. I have seen a lot of advertisements (billboards) that have NBA like feel to them with catchy little sayings. One that really got me a while back was about cavemen. The ad says something like…
Cavemen. Cavemen never had cars. Cavemen never had escalators. And cavemen never had love handles
A clever little ad, but I don’t remember anyone speaking about how cavemen lived to be 80 years old!
I get the point, but with me it just misses the mark a bit.
I haven’t had much free time to write lately. I have been busy with two jobs, just trying to get things done around my home. I took last Saturday off completely. Then Sunday I cleaned up the fish tank and house. To top make matters worse, I just purchased some ColdFusion learning material so I can improve my knowledge of ColdFusion and possibly get certified as a ColdFusion developer. Both books that I have purchase where written by Ben Forta.
